Adult Disability Payment (ADP) is Scotland's replacement for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for working-age adults aged 16 to pension age. It is not means-tested, not affected by savings or other income, and is not taxable. It has two components — Daily Living and Mobility — each with standard and enhanced rates.

ADP uses the same rates as PIP (Personal Independence Payment) in England, but Social Security Scotland's process has key differences: assessments are conducted without a face-to-face medical by default, and the ethos is 'supported application' rather than adversarial assessment.
Apply online at mygov.scot, by calling the freephone number 0800 182 2222, or by requesting a paper application form. Social Security Scotland aims to process most applications within 10 working days.
Paid every 4 weeks directly into your bank account. The standard and enhanced rate payments are made as a single combined payment (Daily Living + Mobility if both are awarded).
