Eligibility

Winter Heating Payment replaces Cold Weather Payment in Scotland. Unlike the Cold Weather Payment, it is paid as a fixed annual amount regardless of actual temperature — every qualifying household gets it automatically every winter. You do not need to apply if you are already receiving a qualifying benefit.
