It replaces the twice-yearly Carer's Allowance Supplement that previously topped up Carer's Allowance in Scotland.

There is no England equivalent — the Scottish Carer Supplement is unique to Scotland. England does not have any top-up payment for Carer's Allowance recipients.
Apply online at mygov.scot, by calling the freephone number 0800 182 2222, or by requesting a paper application form. Social Security Scotland aims to process most applications within 10 working days.
Paid weekly or alongside your Carer Support Payment cycle. As the payment is new from March 2026, Social Security Scotland will notify eligible recipients directly.
